A Tour Down the Eaten Path
It’s Bread And You Need Knead It
I suppose if you ripped off a toasty hunk of this rye sunflower bread and slathered it in butter you may decide that you in fact need it. At the very least it makes a beautifully rustic centrepiece.
I, along with my newfound baker buds, spent the last week elbow deep in flour and yeast. Turns out kneading dough for the first time is comparable to the first time I tried to play the drums or juggle or do arm balances in yoga; if you’ve never done it before, you’re likely going to be brutal at it. The good and obvious news is, the more you do it the better you get.
To celebrate this weeks success I’m going to bring this loaf to my pals place, pour myself a glass of wine, slice up my fresh bread and feed it to friends. This…this is what it’s all about. Making food that looks like art and watching my friends get fat.
